As per court documents, a witness said Mr Abston had been acting inconsistently and had used cover cleaner on his vehicle’s inside. The anonymous source also said he had washed his clothes in his brother’s sink.

He endeavored to escape when US Marshals showed up at the residence but was caught, the affidavit said.

Mr Abston previously served almost 20 years in prison for kidnapping an unmistakable Memphis lawyer in 2000 at gunpoint. He was released in late 2020.
